Invasive non-native (Schedule 9) species

Essex Wildlife Trust Records Centre holds records for a variety of invasive non-native species, including the following:

  • Records of American Mink from the Water for Wildlife Project
  • Non-native crayfish data from consultancies including EECOS, and the Environment Agency
  • Non-native plant species data including Japanese Knotweed, Himalayan balsam and Floating Pennywort records from Essex Wildlife Trust and Essex Biodiversity Project river surveys
  • Records of non-native marine species

Data on all species prohibited from release into the wild under Schedule 9 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 is available from us as ArcGIS point shapefiles with associated details, or in other formats as required. Data is supplied at full resolution (up to 10m or less accuracy).
